She is the former Captain and now the President of DC/DC, she has led the team through thick and thin with a temper to rival that of Mother Nature, and she's got the energy and focus of a SuperHero. The month of February sees the long awaited ms. PoundHer-Down as its Dame of the Month!
February 2012- PoundHer-Down #5PHD
Pale Burnhardt: How long have you been skating? PoundHer-Down: I've been roller blading since age 8, roller derby since November 2010. PB: What do you skate on? PHD: R3s with Heartless Chasers and Creepers. PB: You have a lot of girls that look up to you, but is there any skater out there that YOU look up to? PHD: I don't know. I guess Vyolent Grimm (mid iowa rollers) or PBR (sioux city roller dames) PB: You work, you have a family and kids, and you hold a huge amount of responsibilities that help run the team. Were do you get your steam from? PHD: It's from having OCD and determination, I would say. No point in doing something unless you finish it. | PB: Do you have a lucky piece of clothing or ritual you do before a bout? PHD: I am very adamant about my hair and makeup. I spend way to much time in front of the mirror. When I was younger, I called my cousin "DooDoo" because I would watch her "do" her "doo" (hair). Now I do that. I taught myself to french braid hair at age 5. PB: If you were offered a top secret job with the CIA, would you accept? PHD: Fuck yeah...oh...no. Nevermind. Not a big fan of our government. But I don't want to get into politics now. PB: On the other hand, would you want to be a celebrity? With everything that entails (ie. paparazzi, imdb profile, the income) PHD: uhhmmm...yeah. Growing up I always wanted to be a singer. But I don't have a singing voice. PB: What is one exceptional skill you wish you had? PHD: I wish I had a good singing voice, and was a good singer. PB: Do you have a secret talent? PHD: I am a good artist. I like drawing with a pencil and painting with oils... I don't know if that's really a secret though.... PB: Describe your ideal kitchen. What would it look like? Colors? Smells? Huge fridge? | PHD: I would want a huge kitchen. Like a restaurant but more home style. Toned down colors... but still has a flat top griddle and grill. Breadmaker. Big mixer. Lots of counterspace. Granite counters. Stainless steel. PB: If you wanted to legally change your name, what would you change it to? PHD: Keiti, my Tongan name. (PB: Tonga is a little island kingdom just north of New Zealand, east of Australia by Fiji.) PB: Did you have a childhood keepsake, like a stuffed animal or blanket? Did it have a name? PHD: PB: On a lighter note, what restaurant would you love to have a $100 gift card to? PHD: Buffalo Wild Wings. Been craving it and I didn't get to go this weekend. PB: Say you had to give up one of your five senses forever? (sight, touch, tast, smell, or hearing) PHD: Smelling. Just because I think I would be cool without it. PB: You are almost done. Last one. What is your favorite type of shoe? PHD: Skateboarding DC shoes. I like flat comfortable shoes. Other than that, I really like high heel boots. |
